Damascus Chef knife class

My Damascus Chef knife class is a four day class, Day 1 and 2 are used to create a damascus billet of approx 300-400 layers using two different power hammers and one of two different presses here to create your billet. I will teach you how to stack the two dissimilar metals (1095-15N20) and to tack them together using a mig welder and weld on a handle. Next it goes into kerosene to soak for a few mins before going into the forge. At the end of day two we have the billet finished and surface ground down to our desired thickness for our chef knife.  Days 3 and 4 you turn your billet into a Chef knife via stock removal process (Grind and cut it all away). Once the profile has been made on the billet we drill handle holes and heat treat and temper it. Next is bevel grinding, hand sanding to 1000 grit then etching in Ferric. Next the scales get glued on and thats a wrap for day three, Day four is just spent sculpting the handle and sharpening. Cost is $1100 for the four day class.
